| I'm back (for good), let's celebrate! |
Hello dear readers,
I know that I said I'd be back over two months ago - not to admit that it's been nearly 3 months. And before that, I hadn't really been posting much either. But I needed a retreat for myself and to see what the world had to offer. Hopefully for you guys, I've had a revelation during this hideaway. Many actually, and here's one.
Up until last week, I had never watched the mythic Sex and the City tv show. I'd seen a few episodes on TV but never cared to look further into it. Especially not after watching the second movie -which I found crap if that wasn't clear enough. Before throwing a stone at me, let me explain. Back then (I'm talking of a time where I had much more bias than now) I believed Sex and the City was only about four middle age, successful women parading their sexual lives. It is. However, there's more to it. They're four fictional characters who ask the right real questions. And since it is a fiction, the girls happen to take on the right action to face those interrogations.
Don't get me wrong, I do realise that TV shows are not reality. But take it this way: they are four women who not only question life, but tackle every single aspect of it. That is something that I, in my pathetic life, want to start doing instead of procrastinating in my little corner. I am a young woman and I want to start owning my life a bit more. I don't know whether I believe in faith and destiny, those little words that make us think our lives are out of reach. In some aspects, they certainly are, but in some others, we have a lot to do with it. In my case, it does include being in charge of my sexuality. But I also want to own what happens in my "work" environment and in my social existence. Things don't simply happen in life, we need to work for everything. And the best way to do it, is to have a plan.
Take a glimpse at mine, but most importantly do your own (and share it with me)
The Plan
- Get a small to do list notebook instead of an agenda
- Find a publishing summer job in Belgium
- Write my articles for my London publishing job
- Write my articles for my London publishing job
- Cycle
- Lose weight (like every girl on the planet)
- Take more pictures
- Have more dates with myself
- Sit in bar/park/street to read, write and draw
- Get back on track with the world news
- (re)Do my cinema culture
last but not least (at least in public, because the list is way longer in the privacy of my scrapbook)
- Sew the dresses I've been drawing, but that's for another post!
